I have lived and worked in Davis County for over 35 years. My wife and I have lived in Farmington for the past 13 years where we have raised our 2 amazing children. I have had the privilege of working and leading many teams for a local Utah credit union for over 17 years. Throughout my career, I have been committed to helping people with their personal budgets and helping employees grow to their full career potential, all the while prudently managing hundreds of million-dollar budgets for the branches I have overseen.
Similar to other cities within Utah, Farmington has had huge growth. While this has resulted in success in cultivating new homes and businesses, our challenge is trying to maintain the Farmington we all know and love. I am running for City Council in order to be your voice to help make the hard decisions related to growth and housing density. With my experience in listening to people for understanding, managing budgets, and finding better ways to get things done the right way, I humbly submit my name to be your next Farmington City Council Member.
Why I am running for City Council
Farmington is such a great Tremendous place for us to live and raise our families. I count myself lucky to live among you. I am running for City Council for three key reasons:
1.
I believe I have the experience needed to help run and guide a successful city, especially with my financial background. Overseeing the Farmington City budget is one of the most crucial responsibilities of being on the city council. As city council members, we vote on how money is allocated for what we collectively value most as residents. We make sure we have enough funds for police services, street maintenance, and our amazing recreational areas throughout the city. Without proper funding, none of these would be in existence. My job is to make sure we responsibly use our existing funds, without increasing taxes.
2.
I have experience negotiating with large agencies such as the Utah Department of Transportation. At times, we have little control over state matters. I have successfully interacted with UDOT to negotiate a better solution for my business in Salt Lake City, and I will continue to work towards a compromise that benefits our community.
3.
I am a very good listener. Listening to the people of Farmington will be the main priority for me. I would represent YOU for the city and will work diligently to understand your perspectives and your needs. The most effective form of government is the true representation of the people. If there is an issue you are dealing with, I want to hear about it. I will work with you as your teammate and advocate to seek the best overall solutions.
I will stand up for what we need to continue our ideal way of life in one of the best parts of the country. I will work together with our other elected officials and city manager to achieve the results we all want. Thank you for your consideration of my candidacy for City Council member.
